MOGADISHU, (insidesomalia.org) - More than 11 dead bodies mostly civilians were found today at the Southern Mogadishu where heavy fighting between Ethiopian troops along with Somali government forces fought against Islamic Insurgents erupted yesterday.
This comes after a day when heavy fighting between insurgents and Ethiopian troops backing Somalia's shaky government killed more than 70 people and wounded at least 110 others during the last 24 hours, as confirmed by medical reports and witnesses contacted by InsideSomalia.
Most of the died bodies found who were later buried today by volunteers from their neighborhoods near the former defense ministry headquarters where Ethiopian contingents are positioned , believed being killed deliberately by the Ethiopians although some of them were hit by astray bullets.
"Some of them were seem beheaded" said Ali Mohamed Osman , a resident of Shirkola , about 500 meters away from the Ethiopian Milatary base at the Industrial Street of Mogadishu
Ethiopian forces used excessive power in their fighting against Islamists in Mogadishu bombarding residential areas and continue re-enforcements with largest numbers of Ethiopian troops and military equipment arriving in Mogadishu.
Mogadishu seem to be calm today but fighting could be possibly expected for both the insurgents and Ethiopian seem to be regrouping their forces.
Mohamed Omer Mohamed, Mayor of Mogadishu speaking to the local reporters said that.
The Transitional Federal Government is the entity that is responsible and waged the latest assault against the insurgents.
'Ethiopians do with our orders, and we are the ones who gave them these orders, they act upon our orders" said Mohamed Omer Mohamed.
Ethiopian government insisted that it's troops were just restoring security and Stability in Mogadishu and has succeeded , said the political adviser of the Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi.
'Security situation in Mogadishu is improving and nothing wrong is happening but the media mostly takes the wrong side" said the political adviser of the Ethiopian Prime Minister.
Thousands of Mogadishu residents are continuing flee from the capital for safer positions along the road between Mogadishu and Afgoi, a town 34km away from Mogadishu while these inter displaced people make temporary shelters at the placed mostly called Elasha, between Afgoi and Mogadishu.
United Nations estimate that at 200,000 displaced people were already positioned there living under make shift huts made of wood and plastic bags, without proper food, water and shelter.
